Situated on the northwestern tip of Africa, bordered by Algeria and close to Spain, across the Strait of Gibraltar, is the cultural, architectural, and natural wonder that is Morocco. Home to bustling cosmopolitan centers and remote villages, rugged coastlines, the High Atlas Mountains, and the dunes of the Sahara, it is an explorer’s paradise.
Defined by both European and Arabic influences throughout its history, the country is a stunning composition of cultures uniquely reflected in each region.  Travel to the vibrant city of Chefchaouen in the northwest Rif Mountains, characterized by blue washed buildings snaked together in a labyrinth of alleyways, plazas and ancient Kasbahs. Head to Essaouira and Asilah for coastal centers with white washed architecture, trading fortifications, and festivals. In Marrakech, the ‘Red City’, you will find ancient sandstone buildings, a medina filled with bustling souks where you can try your hand at haggling, indulge in tantalizing local cuisine, and allow yourself to become transfixed by snake charmers, storytellers and dancers. Fes, on the other hand, offers a more mysterious vibe with intricate winding streets filled with workshops, intimate yet vibrant markets, and renowned history including housing the oldest university in the world.
For those wanting more than the cosmopolitan experience, consider traveling to Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara for a guided camel ride and night spent in a Berber tent amidst the towering sand dunes and pristine night sky, or head to the High Atlas Mountains and trek one of the many trails along the tallest mountain range in North Africa.

Helpful Information

Seasons

The best times of year to visit Morocco are in the spring, from early April to the end of May, and the fall between September and November, avoiding the sweltering summer heat and rainy winter months. If you are looking to hike in the High Atlas Mountains consider traveling in the spring or months of September and October when temperatures are milder and the mountains are not cloaked in snow capped peaks.
If you are planning to travel in the spring, do keep the dates of Ramadan in mind as the month-long festival could alter your travel plans.

Budget Planning

Typically for the type of Custom Itineraries we build, prices in Morocco can run from $600 - $900 + USD per person per day, primarily dependent upon destinations included, lodging, activities, time of year, and single or double occupancy. Quoted Tour prices include accommodations, guides, excursions, entrance fees, equipment rental, ground transfers, many but not all meals.
Tour proposals exclude international flights, travel insurance, and gratuities. Each proposal will detail all inclusions and exclusions for clarity.
