Thailand is  a Southeast Asian country bordered to the north by Myanmar and Laos, to the east by Cambodia, to the south by the Gulf of Thailand and Malaysia, and to the west by the Andaman Sea. While it is surrounded by countries which were one time French and British footholds, it has remained its own kingdom, retaining its cultural uniqueness.

Thailand is known for tropical beaches, opulent royal palaces, ancient ruins and ornate temples. The capital is Bangkok, an ultramodern cityscape next to quiet canal side communities and the iconic temples of Wat Arun, Wat Pho and Wat Phra Kaew (The Emerald Buddha). The hill country of the North includes the cities of Chiang Mai and further north Chiang Rai where where travelers can visit elephant sanctuaries, bike through small villages, shop in lively local markets, hike to waterfalls, kayak in lakes and enjoy a variety of inexpensive massages and spa treatments. To the South are lovely beaches and island resorts.

Shop

Enjoy the lively Chiang Mai Sunday Night Market. The local night market is considered legendary and is certainly one the cheapest places for tourists to shop in Thailand, partly due its close proximity to product sources and its appeal to locals, who come out in droves with their families to enjoy street food, foot and neck massages, libations, music and of course shopping

Chill Out

Chill out at a luxury resort in Ko Samui, Thailand’s second largest island, known for its palm-fringed beaches, coconut groves and dense, mountainous rainforest.
