The lush emerald landscapes of the Indochina countryside, thriving cities, beautifully constructed and perfectly preserved temples, and the warm embrace of its people, mask the horrendous past that plagued Cambodia only decades ago. The country is alive with the promise of the future and eager to welcome all who come to experience the architecture, country and seaside landscapes, and mouthwatering cuisine.
Travel to Siem Reap to visit the country’s most prized possession, the ancient city of Angkor, a UNESCO World Heritage site with more than 1,000 ancient temples. Don’t miss the spectacular food, bustling open-air markets, floating villages, elaborate shows, and pristine countryside of rice paddy fields just outside the municipality. If you have more than a few nights, consider extending your stay to visit Cambodia’s capital, Phnom Penh, a city characterized by French colonial architecture, stunning palaces, modern temples, and humbling tributes to its not so distant past of war, famine, and devastating genocide at the hands of Khmer Rouge.
Outside of these bustling cosmopolitan centers, towns like Battambang and Kamport offer the perfect getaway - quaint communities surrounded by sparkling countryside and working fields where you can dive into the culture. Or head to Sihanoukville and Kep, perfect towns for those seeking beach relaxation and island exploration.

Find Your Inner Peace at Sunrise at Angkor Wat

Constructed in the 12th century, this elaborate collection of temples was once the capital of the Khmer Empire. Among the collection, don’t miss Angkor Wat, the largest and most famous temple, Bayon Temple, perhaps the strangest with its hundreds of smiling faces, and Angkor Thom Temple where the lines between nature and temple become blurred. Visit during sunrise or sunset for the most spectacular viewings!

Spend an Evening With a "Cirque de Soleil" Cambodia Style

Spend one of your evenings transfixed by the elaborate circus of acrobats, contortionists, dancers, artists and musicians, as these graduates of a local acting school guide you through tales of Cambodia from ancient times to modern perspectives.

Evening Sunset Cruise

For a unique view of Angkor Thom without the crowds, take a gondola ride to watch the sun’s setting rays bring the temple to life. If you’re up for it, add a trek to the ruins of Prasart Chrung guided by the faint light of dusk transforming into bright, moonlit skies.

See What It's Like to Live in a Floating Village

Along the largest lake in Southeast Asia, Tonle Sap,  lie floating villages whose communities survive off the thriving fishing industry. Take a private boat to photograph the stilted homes, fisheries, floating markets, schools, and fuel stations.

Seek Your Blessings

Visit the largest pagoda in the city to observe the daily rituals of resident monks as you partake in a Buddhist blessing ceremony. Combine this religious experience with a visit to Artisans d’Angkor, an educational workshop where locals preserve the skills of their craftsmen ancestors, producing wood sculptures and stone carvings.

Head to the Coast

Head to Sihanoukville for a few days, relaxing in the laid back beach town with warm waters, few tourists, and fabulously fresh seafood. Constructed in the 1950s, Sihanoukville offers modern resort luxuries intertwined with charming local traditions.
