The Yarra Valley is about an hour and a a half drive east of Melbourne where one can visit several excellent wineries offering tastings, appetizers, lunch and sometimes dinner. The rolling hills are verdant with vineyards and small batch wineries.

An intermediate stop between tastings at the Healesville Animal Sanctuary offers close up viewing of many native animals, in a natural setting where some of the only separation between visitors and animals is a rope.

A drive through the spectacular Sherbrooke Forest consisting of dense forests of the tallest eucalyptus trees you’ll ever see is breathtaking as is the nearby Dandenong Ranges. Bob was lucky enough to take a motorcycle through the area with our host. (Glad I did not see these roads before his ride!) Thrilling for sure, but not for a heavy traffic weekend. Simply a must do if you have enough time in Melbourne. Advice: Make the time! #exclusivetravelgroupaustralia
